FUTURO REMOTO
In October 2016, Naples hosted the 30th edition of "Futuro Remoto" (Remote Future), the first exhibition focused on the dissemination of scientific and technological culture in Italy, this year opening its doors to 200,000 visitors. The theme for 2016 was "Building", shown through eight thematic areas which hosted scientific workshops, meetings, conferences, demonstrations, shows and more. The Smart Cities area sought to imagine the city of the future through concrete examples of how technology can help urban processes become more sustainable and support the organisation of public services.
Caprari has always been at the forefront when it comes to the design of technical and technological solutions addressing the environmental sustainability of products and energy efficiency. The company wanted to participate at "Futuro Remoto" by supplying a DESERT submersible electric pump.
The Caprari product was integrated into the model entitled "Water and energy in the water systems of Smart Cities" developed by professors Armando Carravetta, Oreste Fecarotta and Giuseppe Del Giudice of the University of Naples Federico II.
The model shows how water is drawn from the underground by submersible pumps, also allowing visitors to interactively adjust the flow pumped, to measure all hydraulic and electrical parameters and to determine the energy efficiency of the lifting. During the four days of the exhibition, technicians and students from Federico II took turns at the model's side explaining the techniques for lifting water from wells, operation of water pumps and the importance of pursuing energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
